This is the fullest bodied of the bunch so have it last, and a big ribeye steak will be the right direction to go. Dark garnet color, medium+ intensity. On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, black cherry, black raspberry, leather, chocolate, bell pepper, balanced oak, solid wine. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium+ tannins, medium acidity, charred peppers, cedar, cigar box, dusty component, layered, strong finish, this wine will keep delivering for a good many years, if you drink now aerate, if you don’t have one of those vinturi gadgets, get one.

1999 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

Some guests brought this in, it rocked, note to public, please let your Quilceda age and evolve into the wine it should. On the nose, it had bouquet, medium+ intensity, still packed with black cherry and black currants, the secondary elements are emerging. like cedar, spice box, vanilla, chocolate, leather, very layered. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, velvety tannins, great acidity, and awesome balance and finish.

1996 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon

I had at this a few hours after being decanted. Ruby i color. On the nose, developed, medium intensity, cherry, meat stick, leather, cigar, some oak, and some earth too. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, cherry, cassis, layered mineral and cigar, with medium body, medium tannins, medium acidity, with good balance, and a solid finish.

2006 Kaesler Cabernet Sauvignon Barossa Valley

Broke this out last night craving some aged Cabernet Sauvignon. Purple to ruby color. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, black cherry and plum fruit, with some fig, spice box, black licorice, moderate oak, and no earth to speak to. On the palate, dry, medium+ body, medium tannin, medium acidity, layered spices, explosive fruit, and good herb component, that carried through a good finish. Still lots of life left in this wine.

2005 Garrison Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Walla Walla

I winery on the rise here in WA, spendy but how many other wineries are releasing their 2005’s right now. Garnet color. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, very nicely integrated cherry, plum, cedar, spice box, chocolate, coffee, very layered, with no earth to speak to, and balanced oak. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, full bodied, medium acidity, medium tannin, very nice balance on this wine that impressed me from the start, and finished strong. Serious rising star!

2007 Five Star Cabenret Sauvignon Walla Walla

Purple color. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, black cherry chocolate candy bar element, framed by good oak spices, subtle cedar, with herbs but no earth to speak to. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, ripe black fruit, creamy candy like body, with very delicious integration of spice, fruit, and oak. Solid effort.

2003 Leonetti Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon

Purple color, with brown edges. On the nose, showing development, medium intensity, some cherry, fig, leather, tobacco, earth, with some oak. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, fig and black currant, loaded with roasted espresso bean, and cigar box, with medium tannin, medium acidity, medium body, and a balanced strong finish.

2006 Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley

Black purple color. On the nose, youthful, plums, cherries, black berries, cassis, spice box, cedar, lots of oak, and no earth to speak to. On the Palate, dry, big luscious fruit bomb, medium+ body, medium tannin, medium acidity, with good depth, and a solid finish. More delicious but slightly less complex as the Leonetti Cabernet Sauvignon I had a few nights back.
