Revisited this wine after Thanksgiving shift. It’s truly amazing how ungrateful some people are when they come in on the holidays, like it’s our duty to be there taking care of them, instead of being with our own families. This wine helped me turn the corner as far as my attitude was concerned. On the nose, moving toward bouquet, medium intensity, loads of wet earth, cedar, black cherry, cassis, chinese 5 spice, tobacco leaves, leather, definite earth, with some oak. On the palate, dry, rocking the earthy dusty cedar add some cigar, and some black fruit tucked way in the back. Medium tannin, medium acidity, moderate alcohol, balanced wine with good length to the finish and good structure. Hard to beat this price for pedigree.
