2004 Tinto Estecillo Nino Jesus Vinas Viejas

nino_jesusI grabbed this out of an assortment of SPanish Garnacha I have accumulated. Garnet color with some serious rim variation, complete watery rim. On the nose, developed, medium intensity, dirt, hay, white pepper, mint, mushroom, cranberry, wild strawberry, dill, plenty of earthy, and moderate oak. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium tannin, medium acidity, balanced alcohol, earth, cherry , strawberry, herb, and spice dominate the palate, with a medium body, and a finish longer than 15 seconds.    

2007 Bodegas Ateca Atteca Garnacha Calatayud

100% Garnacha. Soft ruby color with a slight cloudiness. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, strawberry, raspberry, blackberry, smoke, mineral, hay, dried earth, red licorice, subtle oak, lots of white pepper.
