Matt from Epicurean brought this over yesterday. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, earth driven, dirt, smoke, autumn leaves, cinnamon, nutmeg, strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, moderate use of oak, and some earth. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium tannin, medium+ acidity, ripe red berries, earthy textures, silky mouthfeel, balanced, with a solid finish. This wine crosses the regional barriers, behaving like a cross between Willamette Valley and Burgundy Pinot Noir. This would be great with chicken dusted with porcini mushrooms or duck or any other fowl for that matter.
