2005 Di Mayo Norante Ramitello

I picked up a case of this on close out, and am hoping for a diamond in the rough, 85% Prugnolo and 15% Aglianico. Dark ruby color. On the nose, developed, medium intensity, black olive, blackberry, cherry, leather, chalky, soil, sour plum, licorice, subtle oak, and some earth. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium tannin, medium+ acidity, nicely balanced foxy red fruit and spice driven red, with lots of leather and mineral on the finish. Should I keep this all, or send out the email?

2006 Dimajo Norante Terra Degli Osci Sangiovese

This came as a blind recommendation for the last wine dinner at the farm from one of my most trusted wine reps, Dean, knowledgable and a good guys to know, along with sample bottle for me to write notes on the wine. On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, sour cherry, leather, woodspice, sweet vanilla, and a hearty dose of perfumey chalky Italian soil. On the palate, dry, medium tannin, medium acidity, the dryness is overcome with big juicy mouthful of dark berries, earthy character, cocoa, and a descent finish considering the cost of this wine.
