2003 Chateau d’Or et de Gueules

I got poured this at a retail store in town. Pretty good value for a Southern Rhone obscure appelation, Costieres de Nimes. Grenache, Syrah, and Carignan, not sure of the blend. On the nose, aroma, med+ intensity, pomegranite, blackberry, herbs, hay, wet earth, tar, and not oaky. On the palate, dry, med+ intensity, juicy funky berry, lots of red licorice, pepper, med tannin, med acidity, and medium finish. I paid $13 for this undiscovered secret from a regiom that is probably delivering more values than just this one.
