This wine was the other star of the tasting earlier this week. I don’t get to taste that many Condrieu, but this wine makes me want to taste more. On the nose, youthful aromas, med+ intensity, lots of lemon curd served over frisee, then drizzled with honeycomb, topped with oily crab meat, and a beautiful floral element. On the palate, dry, serious weight, medium acidity, awesome presence and finish. I was truly amazed at the depth of this wine, it made me think of lobster, crab, and a variety of rich luxurious seafood. Although by no means cheap, I need to explore more of this wine. I think it’s the pricetag that keeps this great ageable white in obscurity.
