2006 Domaine Gerard Tremblay Chablis AC

tremblay_chablisPale straw in color. On the nose, youthful, mineral laden, sea shells, lemon zest, yellow apple, smoke, honey, some oak, and lots of earth. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, briny, tart apple, lemon, bread, butter, honey, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, body, with a solid finish. Crying for grilled seafood, mainly oyster.

2007 Domaine Servin Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

servin_chablisWow, had this blind today, and the color on it was so bright I never would have thought Grand Cru Chablis, and leaned towards Chenin Blanc from the Loire. Golden yellow in color. On the nose, youthful, funk, lemon, lime, custard, honey, yellow flower, loaded with mineral and earth and a little oak detectable. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, funk, lemon, apple, coffee, toffee, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, medium+ body, very layered, nice finish.

2007 Joseph Drouhin Chablis AC

drouhin_chablis_ac Just got back from jazzfest and I am fired up to get back to blogging. Pale straw in color. On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, loadedwith sour apple, pear, peach, mineral, sea shells, chalk, bread, nutmeg clove, earth and oak present. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium+ acidity, mineral, citrus, shells, medium alcohol, with subtle traces of oak and a moderate finish. I wanted oysters with this.

2005 Drouhin Chablis 1er Cru Montains

Varietally sound Chablis, apple and pear, lots of wet stone, not oaky, some breadiness, but the dominant characteristic was oyster shells. Great summer deck wine, for its crisp acidity. I always have an oyster shucker ready for these occasions.
