2006 Chateau de Thivin Cotes de Brouilly

This was the challenging wine in our blind flight, mainly because of lack of exposure to Cru Beaujolais. A nice purple ruby in color, med intensity. On the nose, aroma, med- intensity, earth first, granite, followed by candy like, pear drop, blueberry, and no oak to speak of.
On the palate, dry, sour patch kids candy, herby floral note, granite, pepper, and not oaky. Med- tannin, med+ acidity, and medium finish. This wasn’t the greatest Cru Beaujolais but a good young example of one.
