Purple ruby color almost fuschia, from organically grown grapes. On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, plum, raspberry, blackberry cobbler, cocoa, leather, with some oak, and no earth to speak to. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, ripe black fruit, cocoa, with a creamy milkshake component, and a silky finish. Why don’t more restaurants and bars pour this by the glass?
Black purple in color. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, blueberry, blackberry, leather, meat, mint, black pepper, chocolate, no earth, and moderate oak. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, medium tannin, medium acidity, layered, black and blue fruit, meaty, leathery, spice driven finish. Solid inky Shiraz.
I cracked another bottle of this last night. Purple ruby color. On the nose, youthful, plum, mulberry, black raspberry, black pepper, mint, dried oregano, some oak, and no earth. On the palate, dry, inky black fruit, medium+ body, medium tannins, medium acidity, creamy mouth feel, well rounded wine with a moderately complex finish. Nice for $15.
Had this the other day and was pretty impressed, enough to offer it to the
Dense purple in color, high intensity. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, mint, mulberry, blackberry, plum, cracked pepper, floral component, lots of oak, and no earth to speak of. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, medium+ tannin, medium acidity, lots of flowers, black currants, dark cherries, oak, nicely balanced, with a nice finish.
Got slipped half a bottle of this on my way to work today, it was open for a bunch of hours before I tried it but I think it benefited the wine. Over 90 points from Parker and Tanzer. Inky purple color, and murky with floating particles. On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, black raspberry, blackberry, mint, smoke, meat, milkshake, white pepper, not earthy, with some oak, but judicious, and certainly French. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, silky tannins that sneak right by you, inky black fruit, some strawberry, meaty, peppery, smokey, medium- acidity, med+ alcohol, med+ body, with nice creamy finish.
Revisited this wine today at a blind tasting, no one called this Aussie Shiraz, we chalked it up to a weird blind tasting day because no one nailed it. Does all Aussie Shiraz reeks of eucalyptus? There are so many styles inside of every classic region it has become almost mind numbing. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, blackberry, blueberry, plum, medium intensity, medium tannin, medium acidity, mulberry, peppery, spice, cedar, smoke, game, with a long complex finish. I liked this one and others thought it was a bit out of whack for Aussie Shiraz with too much acid. I thought it was broad and represents the new guard that doesn’t over ripen over oak and and acidify in Australia.
