2005 Mr Riggs Shiraz Viognier Adelaide

mrriggs 95% Shiraz 5% Viognier. Nice packaging, to me looks more classic than other Aussie bottles with animals on them. On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, dense, mulberry, blackberry, plum, violets, honeysuckle, smoke, meat, spice, not earthy, some oak, complex nose. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, medium tannin, medium acidity without feeling acidified, extremely nice balance, and long blackberry milkshake finish. This is one of those wines that performs at a higher price point.

2006 Slipstream Chardonnay Adelaide Hills Australia

The label is kind of weird, reminds me of David Lynch for some reason. I don’t know much about this producer beyond that and have tasted the Sauv Blanc before. On the nose, youthful, lime, green apple, dandelions, bread, some spice, not earthy, and minute amounts of oak. On the palate, dry, amazing lime zest, and apple, butter or popcorn, medium body, medium acidity, and a nice finish. I was thinking of Ceviche while drinking this.
