Blond color, from a stelvin closure. On the nose, showing some development, medium intensity, apple, pear, lots of mineral, butterscotch, subtle spices, earth and oak present. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, seamless integration of subtle fruit, crushed stone, and oak spice, with a beautiful finish. Too bad this was my last bottle.
Amazing bronzing golden color. On the nose, developed, medium intensity, stones, every kind you can imagine, gun flint, almonds, hazelnuts, stewed apples, wood spice, some oak, loaded with earth. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium body, crushed stones, straw, bread, toasted nuts, seamless integration, some fruit left but not much, medium+ acidity, with a long finish. Arguably past it’s prime, but still a good bottle of wine.
Pale straw in color. On the nose, youthful, mineral laden, sea shells, lemon zest, yellow apple, smoke, honey, some oak, and lots of earth. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, briny, tart apple, lemon, bread, butter, honey, medium+ acidity, medium alcohol, body, with a solid finish. Crying for grilled seafood, mainly oyster.
On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, flint, wet stone, powdery spice, chalky earth, apple, pear, peach, lots of earth, and lots of oak. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, meyer lemon, sour apple, mineral laden, flinty, bubblegum powder, medium+ acidity, very balanced wine, with a pretty serious finish. I have one more bottle and I think I should let it go the distance. Are there other stelvin closure Meusault?
I first tried this a few years back at a big tasting put on by Odom Corp where the wine maker was telling me that these grapes were sourced right outside the Meursault line. After consuming many bottles of this I still think it nails it. On the nose, still youthful, medium intensity, apples, limes, pears, butterscotch, loads of mineral, gun flint, coconut, pretty complex considering the $17 price. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, classic Burgundian mineral note, medium+ body, great weight and body, and a strong stone, coconut, with spices on the finish. Great depth at this price level, I am happy to have found Meursault like quality under $20, and hope others can enjoy it too.
I revisited this wine I bought a bunch of thanks to an Odom Corp tasting last year. Sourced from vineyards just outside the Meursault line. On the nose, moving towards bouquet, medium+ intensity, loads of mineral, crushed stones, gun flint, apple, pear, coconut, vanilla, spice, oak was present, and so was earth. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, toast and bread, apple, spice, nice acidity, great finish on this moderately priced Chardonnay,
Barely any images on the net about this winery, but it’s brand new basically brand new. Having enjoyed success in the 1990′s under the care of Romain Lignier, son of Hubert, the domaine was struck by tragedy a couple of years ago when Romain died suddenly of a brain tumor. His American wife, Kellen, has taken and devote her life to the future success of her late husband’s pride and joy. The new Winery is name after their children, Lucie and Auguste. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, stone and gunflint driven, immense minerality, some apples, pears, smoke, and some oak. On the palate, dry, bread and butter, big bodied, medium acidity, complex spice, smoke, and earth, and a long finish. Expensive, but this wine compete with a lot of the more expensive Cali Chardonnays.

I tried this last year and loved it for the price. The vineyards lie right out side the town line of Meursault. On the nose, aroma, med+ intensity, lots of mineral and gun flint, some apple, lime, some oak, but mainly earth. On the palate, dry, baked apple, great acidity, balance, and finish. I would love to try this against some equally priced Napa or Washington Chards.
