2005 Beresan Stone River Walla Walla

This Bordeaux blend was ruby colored, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Syrah, 25% Merlot,  10% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, cherry, leather, tobacco, clove, fairly muted, with some oak, and no earth to speak to. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, off slightly, lacking balance, and a weird acid thing, boring with a lack luster finish. I hope this was a flawed bottle with unrecognizable flaw.

Definitely sounds like an off bottle. I’ve tried this wine several times and your description sounds quite a bit different, most notably that the Beresan wines always have a notable earthy quality. Such a shame!

    I’ll definitely re-visit.
