2002 Ridge Monte Bello Santa Cruz Mountains

ridge_monte_04Wow. It was dark but the color was a ruby garnet. On the nose, developed, medium+ intensity, plums, currants, cherries, all black, spice box, cedar, dust, earth, tobacco, bittersweet chocolate, with some oak. A beautiful bouquet. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, medium+ body, medium tannins, medium+ acidity, stewed plum and black cherries, cigar, veggies, spices, with a very elegant Bordeaux like finish. Great wine that few can compare to.
