2006 Five Star Cellars Merlot Walla Walla

Perhaps the finest Merlot in the state of Washington. On the nose, youthful, medium+ intensity, chocolate covered cherries, black raspberries, coffee, cocoa, pretty much a delicious candy bar, with no earth, and moderate levels of oak. On the palate, dry, medium+ intensity, medium tannin, medium acidity, very nicely balanced, with a pretty amazing velvety texture. I would call this extremely slammable, not cheap but worth every penny.
