2005 Alves de Sousa Quinta da Estacao Tinto

estacaoI’m trying to iron out the wrinkles of trying to take quality bottle shots at night, before or during the consumption of the wine. But, the lighting sucks so bear with me.  Light ruby color with a slightly fading rim, and medium viscosity.  On the nose, youthful, medium intensity, cherries, plums, chalk, dust, leather, perfume, and a beautiful floral element, with definite earth, and amazingly integrated oak. On the palate, dry, medium intensity, dark and red fruit, old tire, spice box, smoke, dirt, medium tannin, medium acidity, with a solid finish. There’s not much about this not to like and it’s hard not to flat out like it. Fruit, spice, earth, oak, depth, you name it.
